23RD MEETING OF THE SYNDICATE OF UET MARDAN HELD
Mardan, May 10, 2026:
The 23rd meeting of the Syndicate of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan was held on Sunday, 10th May 2026, under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad.
The Syndicate discussed various important academic, administrative, legal, and developmental matters pertaining to the university and made several key decisions for strengthening institutional governance, faculty development, and administrative efficiency.
The forum approved grant and extension of study leave for faculty members and Lab Engineers pursuing higher studies and research at national and international institutions.
The Syndicate reviewed the implementation report of decisions taken in its previous meeting and expressed satisfaction over the progress made by the university administration.
The forum approved the appointment of Prof. Dr. Murtaza Ali as Chairman, Department of Natural Sciences and Humanities, UET Mardan, for a period of three years.
The Syndicate also approved the updated list of subject experts for various teaching programs of the university to facilitate academic and recruitment processes in accordance with HEC guidelines.
The forum further deliberated upon certain service-related matters, including issues concerning Tenure Track System (TTS) and Basic Pay Scale (BPS) service structures. In this regard, the Syndicate approved constitution of a high-level Technical Committee comprising representatives from the Higher Education Department, Establishment Department, Finance Department, legal experts, and university administration to examine the matter comprehensively and submit recommendations in accordance with applicable laws, statutes, and regulations.
The Syndicate approved the amendment agreement between UET Mardan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) regarding the Software Technology Park (STP) established at the university.
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the valuable input of the honorable Syndicate members and thanked all participants for their constructive role in strengthening governance and institutional development at UET Mardan.
