Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) achieved a significant milestone on the aviation front as it resumed its Islamabad–London route with the inaugural flight PK-785, marking a historic return to one of its key international destinations.
The inaugural ceremony was held with great enthusiasm, where Defence Secretary Muhammad Ali graced the occasion as Chief Guest, accompanied by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott. Both dignitaries highlighted the importance of restoring air connectivity between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, terming it a vital step toward strengthening bilateral relations.
Officials of PIA termed the development a major breakthrough for the national flag carrier, expressing optimism that the restored route will enhance travel convenience for passengers, particularly the Pakistani diaspora residing in the UK.
The resumption of flights is also expected to boost trade, tourism, and people-to-people contacts between the two countries. Aviation experts believe that reconnecting Islamabad with London will help PIA regain its position in international aviation markets.
